ESViSiPA: Extra-Solar Visitor Piggyback Arrays
Proposing an Intra-Solar Transport System ranging to the Oort Cloud/heliopause at 180 AU
Gedankenexperiment (thought experiment) with practical application, 1993/4 & 2004
Near-Earth Objects (NEO) Delta-V is a re-usable resource: http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/
When paired with mass orbital transfer points, and satellite cartridge arrays
...to efficiently seed the system with micro-sats & transceivers
...for NEO Detection, science studies & mining
Companies with capacity to design/operate Delta-V transport webs include:
Planetary Resources
Orbital Sciences
ORSC
SpaceX
ILC
RSC Energia
The companies listed here have capacity to create asteroid mining technology. This enables us to manage the trajectory of asteroids, and for using Delta-V this may be more useful than already-moving NEOs because we have to lasso moving NEOs as they pass by. Not so with mineable asteroids.
Using the automated mining systems already being designed, we launch static objects out on the desired trajectory, packed to the gills with scientific study devices and automated "transponder seed pods": these emplace the network during transit. They will return to Earth's orbital vicinity on a known trajectory anywhere from several years to decades from now. Creating profitable commercial possibilities.
