About Karst Landscapes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Caves form in different types of geology. One type is Karst<\/a> – landscapes formed from precipitation percolating through soluble carbonate formations, such as limestone, marble, gypsum and anhydrite.<\/p>\n

About me<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Unorthodox thinking’ consultant<\/a>, entrepreneur, investor, citizen-historian, and member of the BC Speleological Society<\/a>; researching for reproducible evidence of past discovery of caves and karst landscape by combining manuscripts, mining claims, charts, colonial surveys, and maps spread across digital surveys and global archives.<\/p>\n

I value the intrinsic value of caves and karst, but this was not always a paramount virtue in past cultures. My “cave history exploration” framework is to use my business skills to look at centuries-past explorers and adventurers as entrepreneurs, investors, explorers, consumers, builders, settlers, military leaders, and status seekers; all navigating a dangerous world for trade, profit, wealth, status, and survival.<\/p>\n

But my goal, always, as a citizen historian, is to develop directions to test for reproducible evidence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Studying historical events that are of interest to me.<\/li>\n
  2. Investigating tiny clues that suggest the presence of interesting puzzles.<\/li>\n
  3. Developing a thorough picture to propose cross-disciplinary hypotheses to investigate.<\/li>\n
  4. Reminding collaborators that hypotheses are interesting but not compelling.<\/li>\n
  5. Evidence is the thing – is there verifiable evidence?<\/li>\n
  6. Comments and ideas are most welcome!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
