No shipments seem to have (officially) got to nearby Boston.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Was there no coasting trade?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why no shipments to Boston, the largest nearby entrep\u00f4t &#8211; hungriest market for all things limestone?<\/li>\n<li>Did Rhode Island &#8211; founded by Massachusetts dissenters &#8211; competitively keep its lime to itself?<\/li>\n<li>Did English merchants control the trade?<\/li>\n<li>Did lime get smuggled instead?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>References:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dec. 14. 1103.
